Committed to Bubbles and Slime
The Scitech Roadshow is fun for all agesRio Tinto has agreed to continue and expand its relationship with Scitech, committing $2 million to the Scitech Roadshow over the next five years until 2013.
The travelling Roadshow takes inspiring interactive education programs to school students in regional and remote parts of WA. While science education is the driving force of the Roadshow, it also includes maths and technology, professional development for teachers, education for under 5s and a specific set of programmes designed for Aboriginal students in remote areas.
Education specialists travel to all corners of the state every year, visiting around 112,000 students in purpose-built buses. From 2008, the Roadshow will also visit outer-metropolitan schools, which have been identified as not having access to the same educational resources as their inner-city counterparts.
The Rio Tinto WA Future Fund has been working with Scitech since 2002 and has committed over $3.5 million to the Roadshow.
