Rio Tinto Minerals’ salt operations are spread across the Pilbara (Dampier, Karratha and Port Hedland) and Gascoyne (Lake MacLeod) regions of Western Australia and its talc operations are located in the Mid-West (Three Springs).

Rio Tinto Minerals continuously seeks ways in which lasting benefits can be achieved for communities in the Pilbara, Gascoyne, Mid-West and Perth.

This is achieved through long-standing partnerships, sponsorships and grants, as well as active communication with local groups, government and community organisations.

One example is the Rio Tinto Minerals (WA) Community Grant scheme, which has been established to provide an annual $50,000 grant towards a specific need in the local community.

Rio Tinto Minerals is a major employer in the regions.
