Community Interaction - Damper making

Indigenous employment

Environment programmes

Pilbara Iron, a member of the Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) product group, aims to build lasting relationships with its neighbours across the entire Pilbara region.

These neighbours include seven towns and twelve different Aboriginal language groups. On a daily basis, Pilbara Iron interacts with 30,000 people or 60 per cent of the Pilbara population.

Pilbara Iron seeks to provide a real benefit to local people by supporting projects driven by the communities themselves.

This includes long-term investment in the community through partnerships, cash grants or donations, in-kind support and training programmes.

For a list of Pilbara Iron's community investment projects visit The Big Picture.
