Rio Tinto in Western Australia supports a wide range of programmes and partnerships across the State which are helping to build a stronger and more sustainable community.

Our investment in the Western Australian community was more than $15 million in 2008, plus significant in-kind support.

This investment takes many forms - from major state-wide partnerships with community groups and governments; to local sponsorships and long-term projects in the towns and regions where Rio Tinto operates; to providing in-kind and infrastructure support to neighbouring communities.

Community support is provided at two levels - state-wide (managed by the Rio Tinto Community Investment team and the Rio Tinto WA Future Fund) and regional (managed by our relevant business units).
