Rio Tinto Minerals has one salt operation located in the Gascoyne region of central Western Australia.

The business unit has 207,200 hectares of solar salt fields located inland at Lake MacLeod, 65 kilometres north of Carnarvon.

Rio Tinto Minerals also has a gypsum operation located next to its Lake MacLeod solar salt fields.
